10 Proven Strategies to Write a Compelling Call-to-Action for Your Real Estate Website

If you’re wondering what the most important thing to include in your website is, my answer is a clear and compelling call-to-action (CTA).

Why?

It’s because your website can be the most informative, most aesthetically pleasing website ever, but without a call-to-action (CTA), your reader might still not know what to do next. Even worse, they may leave your site without accomplishing anything, which is a wasted opportunity or doing any of the things you want them to do. Such a waste, right??

So how exactly do you write a compelling call to action? I scoured the internet just so I could share these TEN TIPS with you:

10. Make it attention-grabbing.

Your call-to-action should be visually striking and noticeable. Use contrasting colors, bold fonts, or animation to make it stand out.

9. Make it the most noticeable thing on your web page.

The CTA should be the first thing that catches the visitor’s attention. It should be prominently placed on the page, and its design should draw the eye to it.

8. Use action words.

Use verbs that encourage action, such as “buy,” “subscribe,” “download,” or “sign up.” Combine these with adverbs or a subject to make it more specific and effective, such as “download this free guide now.”

7. Add numbers.

People are often motivated by numbers, such as discounts, percentages, or the number of items included. Use numbers to add specificity and urgency to your call-to-action, such as “50% off” or “limited time offer for the first 100 sign-ups.”

6. State a clear benefit.

Tell your audience exactly what they’ll gain by taking action. Focus on the benefits that they will receive, such as saving money, gaining knowledge, or improving their lives.

5. Use adjectives.

Use descriptive words to add emotional appeal and help visitors envision the outcome of their action.

“Find your home” vs “Find your dream home”—which would you rather click?

4. Make a promise.

If you feel confident in your offer, make a promise to your visitors. This can create trust and credibility, such as “We guarantee satisfaction or your money back.”

3. Make it short.

Keep your call-to-action short and to the point. Ideally, it should only be three to seven words. This makes it easy to remember and easy to read.

2. Highlight your USP.

Your Unique Selling Proposition is what sets your offer apart from the competition. What’s unique about your offer? Why would they want it? Highlight it to make your call-to-action more attractive and effective.

1. Trigger their FOMO.

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is a powerful motivator. Create urgency and scarcity by using phrases like “limited time offer” or “while supplies last.” It’s the secret to making your prospects take immediate action instead of putting it off for later. It’s the reason why limited-time offers are almost always effective.
